How to Easily Get NPK Pelangi Fertilizer

Fertilizer is an essential ingredient for every growing crop. It is used to give plants nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and other minerals essential for proper growth. For farmers with continuous planting rotation, their soil might lack its fertility and require a mix of organic fertilizer and chemical fertilizer to supply the plant with its much-needed nutrients. Along with water and sunlight, nutrients in fertilizer increase the growth and development of plants whose ultimate goal is to increase crop production.

Each year, the Indonesian government would set aside a budget to help farmers with their fertilizer needs by supplying subsidized fertilizers. These fertilizers come in NPK, Urea, ZA, SP-36, organic, and liquid fertilizer. The subsidized fertilizers are given to help ensure food security and crop production in Indonesia.

NPK Fertilizer Quota in 2022

This year the Ministry of Agriculture announced that they have lowered the budget for subsidized fertilizer in the State Budget. Reducing the amount of subsidized fertilizer that one farmer can have.

Reported from, based on data from the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities, Ministry of Agriculture, the need for fertilizer for farmers reached 22.57 to 26.18 million tons or equivalent to Rp 63-65 trillion in the last five years. This year, the government limited budget can only allocate subsidized fertilizers of 8.87 to 9.55 million tons, with a budget value of Rp 25-32 trillion. That is a cut of almost half what the farmers need.

PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Kaltim), a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia, one of the big suppliers of fertilizer in Indonesia, has assured that the production and availability of the subsidized fertilizer are safe until the end of the year. They made sure of it by supplying more than what is regulated. As of early this year, the available national stock of fertilizers reaches 1.3 million tons, consisting of 676,648 tons of Urea, 451,932 tons of NPK, 96,121 tons of SP-36, 58,529 tons of ZA, and 99,228 tons of organic fertilizers. To ensure that the subsidized fertilizer goes to the right farmers, PT Pupuk Kaltim along with PT Pupuk Indonesia, keep an eye out on the distribution process. Only farmers that have registered to the Definitive Plan for Group Needs electronic system (e-RDKK) can receive the subsidized fertilizers.

NPK Pelangi Fertilizer and Where to Find Them

To counteract almost half of the farmers’ subsidized fertilizer needs, farmers are suggested to try using organic fertilizers. This kind of fertilizer is made of manure or animal and food waste. Using organic fertilizer would help with keeping the fertility of the soil by using natural ingredients that would naturally supply nutrients to the plants. But suddenly changing up fertilizer in the middle of a growing season can have unpredictable results. Another option that might be preferable is using the non-subsidized fertilizer available in the market.

There are a lot of non-subsidized fertilizers options in the market. PT Pupuk Kaltim, one of the suppliers of subsidized fertilizer, they have a myriad of non-subsidized fertilizers that farmers can choose from. One of them is the NPK Pelangi fertilizers. From PT Pupuk Kaltim, NPK Pelangi fertilizer consists of two types, NPK blending and NPK fusion. NPK blending is produced through a mechanical blending process and formed from high-quality raw materials that are urea granules, DAP (Diammonium Phosphate), and KCL flakes, as well as other ingredients as a filler such as Mg and Ca. While the NPK fusion is produced through a steam granulation process so that it has homogenous fertilizer granules containing N, P, and K elements in one grain.

As NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) is the three main nutrients needed by the plants, NPK Pelangi is available in many ratios and can be flexibly formulated according to plant and soil needs. With the limited allocation of subsidized fertilizer, farmers can counteract them with a non-subsidized fertilizer. It is noted that the national stock of non-subsidized fertilizers is around 750 thousand tons. More than enough to help cover the lack of subsidized fertilizers.

NPK Pelangi is available in most markets and fertilizer distributors, including online markets. Farmers who participate in the Makmur program by PT Pupuk Kaltim can also get access to this non subsidized fertilizer along with other PT Pupuk Kaltim products like their organic fertilizer Ecofert and decomposer Biodex.
